#2 - Review

Toilets went unbleached today as a complete lack of water (two days and counting) has meant no toilet flushing so bleaching the loos would mean gassing ourselves with chlorine, so nope.

Bit hard to clean with water when you don't have any, or much anyhow.

We've made plans to shower at the in-laws' tomorrow, ahead of a family outing to see a concert at our church.

Tomorrow will force my butt outta bed first thing as Hubs heads off to work and no bad thing as I've rather lazed around the last coupla mornings. I've been pretty dosed (cold/allergy who knows but sometimes the sneezing fits, up to eight/ten in a row leave me gasping for air) and had back ache and . . . well the list of complaints is long but who really cares?!

On a funnier sidenote, showering tomorrow will still leave one foot unwashed (by all but a baby wipe anyhow) as I'll need to wear a plastic glove to keep my toe dressing dry and allow the silver nitrate, applied today at my podiatry appointment, to keep working.

Sunny and I enjoyed a brisk walk to the foot appointment and then a hobbling walk back from it (silver nitrate causes throbbing y'all). We walked through the park to see the ducks of course; and dogs as it's a popular dog walking area. We then made a surprise visit to Dadddy at work and the little man smiled at and shied away from the rest of the staff in equal measures. He was too cute all bundled up in his navy duffle coat (9-12m and still too big), stripy mitts (12m and a lovely fit) and hat (6-9m and also fitting well).

Dinner of beef stock couscous, sweetcorn and sausages went down well as did our storytime - two adventures of Piglittle, "Don't rock the boat" and "Honk." Sunny just loves his stories and especially those about animals at the moment.

We worked more on his dressing/undressing skills today, until yesterday this wasn't something I had actively been doing though he has naturally been adding to his skills of course. Even in only two days of active encouragement he's made lots of progress, bless him he can get his trousers up at the front but the back is proving a little trickier and putting his trousers on one leg at a time is very new, since we've always just pulled them onto him both legs at once - it is so lovely to see all the little developments. As a sidenote, one of his little quirks that he's been doing forever is how he swaps his toy/book/whatever he may be holding between his hands as he helps us (un)dress him, rather than putting whatever it is down - it's too cute.

Bedtime and naptime are generally sweet times of togetherness now as he drifts off gently, though nap today was a bit more fraught as he fought attempts for an earlier snooze, we got there though and he enjoyed over an hour and a half of rest, waking happily.

I wonder how I got so lucky as to get a beloved and a loving, happy child by him.

Tomorrow will hopefully bring a resolution to the water problems as they dig up a "neighbour's" driveway and also hopefully see a return to better form for myself and in turn the house.
