Today's plan:
- Christmas Preparations
--- discuss Christmas card list with Hubby
--- type up at least ten addresses
- Grooming Goal
--- cut and file Sunny's toenails
--- keep from biting my fingernails
--- read "TDWYCP" (The 'Do What You Can' Plan) chapter four
--- share my goal(s) with Sis#1, my mustard seed goals are...
--- to grow my fingernails and file them (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) so as to have fingernails that protect my fingers by completely covering the quick (the sensitive nailbed skin) and being smoothly edged to remove the temptation to bite them. I will consider my goal achieved when I have stopped having to think about it and have ceased even thinking about nibbling (though I recognise that this is probably going to take considerably longer than twenty-one days)
--- to have toenails that protect my toes and ward off infections (in-grown toenail infections especially) by letting go of my pathological need for short toenails and keeping them "grown-out" with the added need to trim them more regularly (perhaps weekly on Sundays) and file them to keep the edges smooth and negate my neuroses (scratching or catching my nails on myself/Hubs in bed, tights and socks). I will consider this goal achieved when I no longer worry about a return to ingrown toenail infections (after twenty-one LONG months of constant toe pain, ingrown toenail infections, several anti-biotics and FIVE unsuccessful nail surgeries).
- Half-hour Hope (continuing to glue the birds/owls together perhaps, keeping this as a current challenge until its 28th day)
- Cleaning Schedule - Monday (continuing this as a current challenge because clearly I'm not very good at it)
--- brush out en-suite
--- brush out master bedroom
--- brush out nursery
--- clean en-suite
--- dust master bedroom
--- dust nursery
- Tutor M from 4-5 (so long as Sunny is in good form after having his catheter removed)
- Repack baby bag for my toe appt. tomorrow
- Consistency Challenges
--- Beautifying (edit sidebar to reflect this move)
--- Frumps to Pumps (get dressed by 9am)
--- Hydration (two-and-a-half litres - record and meet!)
--- Say Grace before dinner (set alarm)
--- Smaller Portions/Sugar Fast (no chocolate) - RECOMMIT TO THESE!
--- Tidying Time (addresses on computer)
--- Walk with Sunny - car to hospital and back should suffice ;)
- Daily Do List
--- Bedtime & HH prep
--- Bleach toilets regularly (M/W/Sa)
--- Catechism practice (25-26)
--- Commit the day to God in prayer *FIRST THING*
--- Food prep - lift out pancakes from freezer
--- Laundry (take downstairs, sort, prep load for tomorrow, fold and put away dry laundry)
--- Lay out tomorrow's clothes
--- Load/unload dishwasher
--- Moodscope
--- Prayer Sticks
--- Quick-clean bathroom
--- Quick-clean kitchen/sink
--- *****QUIET TIME***** (first task for naptime)
--- Record tutoring income/expenditures
--- Scripture memory work (edit sidebar)
--- Swagbucks
--- Tutoring prep/set-up/clear-up
--- Wake up the house routine
--- Weigh-in and record weight (M/W/Sa)
--- What's for dinner? Bacon, pancakes, beans and eggs.
--- Worship song time
--- Write review post
--- Write tomorrow's post
Using challenges from His Word and His gentle prodding,
to improve - mind, body, soul, home and marriage.

Day 66 - Review + CP (Take 3)
Today I:
- Christmas Preparations
--- didn't go through the Christmas card list with Hubby
--- wrote up the first draft of our Christmas letter insert with Hubs, it just needs some information added and permission sought to include a couple of tidbits
--- didn't type up any addresses but have the computer sitting ready for me to do so tomorrow, instead I sat with Hubby to enjoy Downton Abbey and "It's a Blas" uninterrupted as Sunny slept peacefully in the next room
- needed to focus on the following Daily Do List items and I:
--- did commit the day to God in prayer though not quite first thing
--- did lay out tomorrow's clothes
--- didn't even think about Moodscope until I sat down to type this review
--- didn't think of my Quiet Time either! Not good and the only thing I really need to focus on tomorrow
- repacked the baby bag for Sunny's hospital appointment in the morning
- showered and shaved and quickly dried my hair, as a result we were a little late to church BUT I'm ready to face the week ahead and I didn't look like I'd been dragged through a bush backwards
- finished going through the book people magazines but will need to cull the virtual shopping basket contents (Mum too) before we're ready to place out order (either tomorrow or Tuesday)
- Grooming Goal
--- kept from biting my nails, though still suffering from the nibbling of earlier in the week
--- cleaned toe in the shower and then applied iodine before redressing it (looking forward?! to my Tuesday appt. as it's SO painful)
- Half-hour Hope (quick house tidy up, laid out my clothes, repacked baby bag, made myself some supper)
- Beautifying (showered and shaved)
- Cleaning Schedule - Sunday - rest - need to work on the work part!
- prayed about (and attended) church
- have yet to plan posts for the week ahead, I'll only type up for tomorrow before I turn in
- enjoyed a lie-in (thank you Hubs), much needed as I battle allergies/a bad headcold thing
- enjoyed an afternoon nap too en famille, a lovely thing indeed
- Consistency Challenges
--- Frumps to Pumps - done
--- Hydration (two-and-a-half litres) - not recorded or even close to met
--- Say Grace before dinner - nope, whoops
--- Smaller Portions/Sugar Fast (no chocolate) - neither were even on my radar as I gorged on chocolate before reboarding the wagon tomorrow
--- Tidying Time - general only
--- Walk with Sunny - nope
- Daily Do List - all done except for the following:
--- Catechism practice (25)
--- Moodscope
--- Prayer Sticks
--- Quick-cleans
--- Quiet Time

Day 64 - Review + CP (Take 1)
Today I:
- discussed Christmas with Hubby and decided to definitely purchase the traidcraft nativity, do a bit ore research before choosing one to buy Sunny for Christmas and I'm going to think a little more about buying the Hanukiah; unfortunately Hubby vetoed the nativity ducks :(
- we also got a jump on Christmas Preparations by writing our gift list and deciding budget and what we still need to buy (as it turns out very little, I'm way more organised than I thought)
- we also chatted about the envelope addressing (I bought clear printable address labels earlier in the year in preparation) and we still have to type up most of our address book (we'll split that chore), then I'll format them and we can print them out before assigning cards and writing them (Hubby's job usually)
- Grooming Goal
--- nibbled my nails a lot today - not good and gonna hurt later today/tomorrow
--- soaked, cleansed and redressed my (increasingly painful) infected toe
- Half-hour Hope (glueing birds and laying out felt birds and owls from a craft set)
- Beautifying (see above)
- Cleaning Schedule for Friday - nope
- We chose not to attend the Tots' group today as we're keeping Sunny in, loser around the nappy, pyjamas and as it was the gathering that would include older (rougher, off-school) siblings, we thought it wiser to stay away. We did enjoy a little errand to the bakery though and treated ourselves to lovely fresh seeded bread etc.
- planned to watch Luther in celebration of Reformation day but frankly too tired
- Consistency Challenges
--- Frumps to Pumps (get dressed after my lie-in, wore earrings, have chosen to stop texting my sister)
--- Hydration (two-and-a-half litres) - haven't been keeping track but doubt I was even close
--- Say Grace before dinner - how do I find this so hard to remember
--- Smaller Portions - hahahaha
--- Sugar Fast (no chocolate) - nope, nope, nope
--- Tidying Time - general not specialised
--- Walk with Sunny - up and down the street the bakery is on
- Daily Do List - have gotten out of the habit of several elements - cornerstones - as I've reverted to bad habits - tomorrow the elements I need to focus on are:
--- Committing the day to God in prayer
--- Laying out the next day's clothes
--- Moodscope
--- Quick-clean bathrooms and kitchen
--- Quiet Time

Day 63 - Review
Today I:
- Grooming Goal
--- kept from biting my nails
--- trimmed and filed Sunny's fingernails
- Half-hour Hope (sewed four items - a pair of my leggings, woollen tights and a cardigan as well as a pj top of Sunny's also beginning to make simple felt birds using a cheap crafting kit from asda)
- Beautifying (tidying the hall of excess baby bag itms)
- didn't attempt my Cleaning Schedule at all but unwittingly did straighten the hallway
- managed to remember to say Grace and tidied in the hall etc. so two out of seven for my Consistency Challenges, also have ceased "reminding" my sister daily of the FtP challenge as I don't get the impression she even reads them
- Daily Do List (wrote my last 31 days post, moodscope is being sorely neglected and my dedicated quiet times have also gone a little by the way. I have been spending time contemplating scriptures but not so much actually sitting down to really focus in. I have a catechism devotion book to work through and think it might help refocus me on more serious study)
- Praise the Lord Sunny is in fine fettle!

Day 24 - Review
Today I:
- managed 3 1/2 out of 5 Frumps to Pumps tasks
--- a half as I should have gotten dressed quicker/earlier and I completely missed the mark once more on the drawer sorting due to surprise visitors (the not unwelcome in-laws) and the decision this morning to spend the evening visiting with recently bereaved friends and neighbours
--- the "whys" reflection became a digital affair but better edited in that regard
- Attended Church en famille and enjoyed the whole service with only one toilet trip with Sunny and no trips out for a talking to - yay! However I didn't prepare well in terms of the messages I wanted to take this morning so they stayed home - next week...
- Our sermon this morning looked at Judges and discussed empty religion and ritual versus a personal faith and relationship with God and I was struck by how much these "challenges" I call "His" are so much ritual that I need to be careful that they do not become like the rejected burnt offerings and incense burnings of the Israelites when God turned His face from them. I need to be careful that completing checklists does not become my focus but rather my starter's pistol setting me off toward the goal of a closer relationship with God. The checklists and challenges should simply remind me to commit each day to Him; read, study, learn and meditate on His Word; pray for others, our church, government etc. BUT it should not be done by rote but in prayerful submission to God's will and His leading. These challenges have had such an impact on me already and were chosen with God's leading and therefore mostly have succeeded in getting me re-committed to my faith. I was attending church and paying lipservice for such a long-time, I was wandering and not growing and these challenges have certainly helped me to grow once more. I am thankful for the message this morning to keep me "in check" about the checklists though. I want to be a disciple ever learning not a Pharisee ever proud of what I am doing to learn.
- Didn't cancel (stupid) list sub (again) or salt soak my toe or tidy
- Hydrated
- Sugar Fasted
- Following yesterday's quiet time I took the differing approach of a smaller passage and greater depth-revelations abound.
- Consistency Challenges (all but a walk)
- Daily Do List done

Day 23 - Review
Today I:
- completed all my FtP challenges excepting for sorting through my underwear/sock and pyjama drawers; I even made an amazing(-ly childish) sticker chart of paths leading to my e-book/reading rewards
- in preparation for tomorrow I have my sister's reminder text pre-typed and my cleanser, toner and cotton pads sat at the ready (a morning routine time saver and visual reminder in one)
- tidied a little in the lounge and kitchen but didn't do my focused time
- Hydrated lots
- Sugar Fasted except for a small piece of flapjack, even turning down fairy cakes and chocolate chip brioche rolls from my nephew's birthday tea
- Packed baby bag ready for church
- did all of my Consistency Challenges, more or less; my walk with Sunny was very short as I felt dizzy from my sinus-y cold, the general ick feeling also led to the lack of focused tidying etc. Worship songs were sung but not listened to and quiet time was a shorter but more intense affair. I'm thankful that at least that is one habit that seems to be taking well, praise the Lord.
- as for the Daily Do List, catechism practice was a short and sweet review of Q&A 17&18, while laundry was a mammoth four loads (since I'd deliberately let it build-up since the two loads on Tuesday and had [finally] changed our bedding - though really it was The Hubby, under instruction, thanks honey) and everything else got done
- and so to bed to attemot to get some sleep (don't you just love insomnia) and recover from this cold (which alas requires you know, sleep). Fortunately the morning will bring a glorious lie-in (hopefully an unconcious one, but at the very least a good rest and relaxation time) while Hubby takes Sunny for a cycle before we (D.V.) will go to church en famille.

Day 22 - Review
Today I:
- Prayed over and planned out my new challenge beginning tomorrow
- Tidied in the nursery
- Hydrated a lot (over 3L and counting)
- Sugar Fasted
- Had my Quiet Time in the evening rather than at naptime
- Consistency Challenges done
- Daily Do List done
- Attended the Tots' group in the morning, enjoyed jiggling a four-month-old to sleep, turned down homemade shortbread and got to chat with some of the mums
- Got Sunny his new shoes, a very painless outing and got in a (very short) walk too
- Was all set-up and ready for tutoring but student never showed and still have no idea why, was pretty annoyed but c'est la vie, Hubs informed me later that the student's grandfather may be very ill which could be an explanation as they're a very close (and forgetful) family. *Update* Just got an apology text to say they are gathered around the grandfather who hasn't long to live, so very understandable absence.
- Edited my sidebar and wrote up templated posts for the new challenge
- Rang optician with Sunny's healthcare number
- Have yet to cancel list subscription
- Salt soaked toe and applied betadine
- Decided to hold off on texting re LLL membership
- Forgot I wouldn't have a car this afternoon so my nephew will have to wait until tomorrow for his card.

Day 22 - Consistency Day - TT (6) - Hy (11) - SF (16) - QT (21)
Today will mark my first "Consistency Day," not a day off so much as a day on, redoubling my efforts to be consistent in completing my challenges and tasks. Incorporating my new challenges (especially Tidying Time), the Consistency Challenges (a list which will be edited tomorrow to include Quiet Time and which will have some items shifted across to the Daily Do List) and the Daily Do List, as well as all the little errands (and tutoring) will be my focus today without adding anything new.
- Tidying Time (especially focusing on the nursery and using the timer on my phone)
- Hydration (measured and recorded through the waterlogged app)
- Sugar Fast (removing the sweet treats of jam, plain biscuits and flapjacks that have snuck in)
- Quiet Time (during Sunny's nap)
- Consistency Challenges (Bleach Toilets Regularly, Catechism Practice, Moodscope, Prayer Sticks, Saying Grace before dinner, Scripture Memory Work, Swagbucks, Walk with Sunny-to get his new shoes, Worship Song Time)
- Daily Do List (commit the day to God in prayer, lay out clothes for tomorrow, tutoring prep/set-up/clear-up, what's for dinner?, food prep and clear-up, dishwasher, laundry folding and putting away, wipe down kitchen/sink, quick-clean bathrooms, strip bed and leave out new bedding for Hubby, open/close blinds, bedtime prep, write the day's review post, write tomorrow's list post, note down income/expense immediately)
- Tots' group with both Hubby and son
- Get Sunny his new shoes, time/mood-permitting
- Tutoring O while Sunny has fun with the grandparents
- Editing sidebar content and praying over and choosing a new challenge to add in tomorrow
- Ring optician with Sunny's healthcare number
- Cancel list subscription
- Salt soak toe and redress with betadine
- Text Vicky re LLL membership
- Drop off birthday card to my nephew

- Forgot to ring optician until it was too late - oops
- La Leche League attended, I remembered to return my library books, make and take popcorn for group snack and take water for Sunny and I and we had a ball

Day 20 - Review
Today I:
- Tidied as I went today but didn't set aside a specific fifteen minutes or get to the COD - fail.
- Hydrated though less through water and more milk and tea today. Downloaded the free "waterlogged" app to help me keep a better record of my level of hydration. My challenge is for 2.5L, today I logged about 2.7L but according to the app as a breastfeeding mother I should be on about 3.1L of water (aside from food) so I'll seek to improve on this challenge as I progress.
- Sugar Fasted
- Quiet Time was done shortly after Sunny went down for his nap
- Consistency Challenges were all done except taking a walk with Sunny which seems to have fallen by the wayside entirely of late. Must do better on that one but no idea when I could fit it in.
- Daily Do List all done
- Tutored Cl and E
- Didn't cancel list subscription yet or salt soak or do the en-suite or arrange tutoring or ring the optician back - I suck at this - tomorrow again
- Finished drying laundry, folded it and put it away
- Set out mince etc. for Mama

Day 19 - Review
Today I:

Day 16-18 - Review
This weekend whilst away I:
- Hydrated though nowhere near enough
- Sugar Fasted way more than a "normal" day but was definitely more lax over the weekend, eating boiled sweets in the car (to stave off car sickness in fairness), several sweeties I stole from my Hubby (sorry honey) and multiple biscuits (naughty but at least they were plain). Still proud of myself though for avoiding the chocolate temptress and desserts when we ate out.
- Quiet Time really didn't happen, I fell asleep as I meditated on Scripture on the first evening and didn't even get to it the last two days though I did continue to pray with Sunny and my Hubby and memorise Scripture and the catechism and enjoyed worship time as a family in the car so I wasn't bereft of the Bible and we surprised ourselves by making it to church on Sunday morning. (Sunny was very well behaved throughout, despite having just stirred from a short nap, and garnered himself several compliments to that end).
- Consistency Challenges were almost all upkept excepting Swagbucks and Moodscope as I had no internet access yesterday and although we did walk daily, they weren't more than danders as the weather was atrocious.
- Daily Do List (all done except committing our days to God yesterday and today - oops, though I guess we did as we went along just not first thing in the morning)
- Integrated a fifteen minute Tidying Time into my day - not exactly a difficult thing to do while staying in someone else's and living out of a suitcase, especially today clearing up to come home and then getting home and unpacking. Tomorrow will be the first real test of this new habit.
- Cancelled tutoring as we weren't going to be home in time (weren't home until half seven when I'd originally planned to tutor at five-oops!
- Enjoyed a guided tour of Enniskillen Town Hall by a thirty-five-year employee of the council, excellent craic and very informative
- Visited my Nanna, for the first time in over three years - couldn't believe it had been so long! Lovely catching up with her and also seeing my Auntie S and hearing news of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and showing off Sunny to them (who behaved very well-yay!).
- Also visited the friends whose house we stayed at and enjoyed a lovely catch-up.
- Ate out, including an okay chippy take away, a lovely Sunday lunch in Donegal town and some pub-grub today for lunch with packed up snacks and a filled cool-box seeing us right otherwise. Looking forward to home-cooked pizza tomorrow night I think.
- Relaxed - oh the weather was wild and it was just lovely shutting ourselves into the fairly remote holiday home and shutting the door (and curtains), lighting the fire and enjoying some DVDs: Fun with Dick and Jane (a previously seen funny silly movie that I knew Hubby would love), Friends with Kids (very rude offbeat modern rom-com) and Bringing Down the House (funny and silly) and one other I just can't remember but that I know I enjoyed at the time! Just chilling out and snuggling on the sofa - a lovely weekend, thanks honey.
