Day 64 - Review + CP (Take 1)

Today I:

- discussed Christmas with Hubby and decided to definitely purchase the traidcraft nativity, do a bit ore research before choosing one to buy Sunny for Christmas and I'm going to think a little more about buying the Hanukiah; unfortunately Hubby vetoed the nativity ducks :(
- we also got a jump on Christmas Preparations by writing our gift list and deciding budget and what we still need to buy (as it turns out very little, I'm way more organised than I thought)
- we also chatted about the envelope addressing (I bought clear printable address labels earlier in the year in preparation) and we still have to type up most of our address book (we'll split that chore), then I'll format them and we can print them out before assigning cards and writing them (Hubby's job usually)

- Grooming Goal
--- nibbled my nails a lot today - not good and gonna hurt later today/tomorrow
--- soaked, cleansed and redressed my (increasingly painful) infected toe

- Half-hour Hope (glueing birds and laying out felt birds and owls from a craft set)

- Beautifying (see above)

- Cleaning Schedule for Friday - nope

- We chose not to attend the Tots' group today as we're keeping Sunny in, loser around the nappy, pyjamas and as it was the gathering that would include older (rougher, off-school) siblings, we thought it wiser to stay away. We did enjoy a little errand to the bakery though and treated ourselves to lovely fresh seeded bread etc.

- planned to watch Luther in celebration of Reformation day but frankly too tired

- Consistency Challenges
--- Frumps to Pumps (get dressed after my lie-in, wore earrings, have chosen to stop texting my sister)
--- Hydration (two-and-a-half litres) - haven't been keeping track but doubt I was even close
--- Say Grace before dinner - how do I find this so hard to remember
--- Smaller Portions - hahahaha
--- Sugar Fast (no chocolate) - nope, nope, nope
--- Tidying Time - general not specialised
--- Walk with Sunny - up and down the street the bakery is on

- Daily Do List - have gotten out of the habit of several elements - cornerstones - as I've reverted to bad habits - tomorrow the elements I need to focus on are:
--- Committing the day to God in prayer
--- Laying out the next day's clothes
--- Moodscope
--- Quick-clean bathrooms and kitchen
--- Quiet Time

Day 38 - Review

Today I:

- ate Smaller Portions

- Tidied as I went

- worked through my Frumps to Pumps tasks and began a catch-up by reading day ten and its corresponding blog post and began to work through my questions for Friday as well (I'll probably have finished them before I turn in tonight). On a lighter note I finished my first treat (Haldred Chronicles: Kalla) and have made a start on my second (The Chosen).

- failed to shower as we slept in a lot this morning and a shower would have kept me too late for church

- Prayed about attending and attended church

- made plans for tomorrow that won't include a trip to my Granda's, as Hubby will be helping out his wee sis

- managed a three out of five for my Consistency Challenges (having a snickers-like bar for breakfast in my rush and not hydrating enough)

- completed my Daily Do List excepting having a quiet time

Tuesday, 1 October 2013

Day 33 - Review

Today I:

- ate Smaller Portions sort of, maybe, maybe not - this needs work and much less hunger

- Tidied in the kitchen instead of nursery (out of necessity mainly)

- worked through my Frumps to Pumps tasks and was surprised to find out how little make-uo I actually own (after numerous purges) and that most of it is very old! Definitely needed to purge some more (no parabens thank-you-very-much) and may even actually buy some new stuff one of these days.

- Hydrated though again not enough

- Prayed a lot today, needed to

- Time and weather not being on our side - the ducks went unfed, though we enjoyed a drizzly walk from our car (parked a way away) to the hospital appointment.

- Attended physiotherapy appointment and came home with my very own set of splints - such excitement!

- Tutored M; inally found out that O will not be returning to tutoring (can't say I'm surprised, but I am disappointed as a lot of prep work went to waste and they cost me two paying sessions and were unreliable at best); and with O out of the picture I am (hopefully) able to tutor Cr on Friday.

- failed (again) at my Sugar Fast and remembering to say Grace of my Consistency Challenges

- did my Daily Do List

Day 32 - Review

Today I:

- ate Smaller Portions beginning with a smaller bowl of cereal for breakfast, small snack of crackers and grapes, small lunch of cup-a-soup and whole-wheat breadsticks, small snack of plain biscuits and peanut butter (to stop me passing out - how on earth was I so hungry?), regular dinner, at the parentals house en famille, of sliced baked potatoes in a white sauce and spiral pasta in cheese and tomato sauce. Sunny did an amazing job of feeding himself (after literally tipping the pasta from one bowl into another for half an hour before he even tasted it). Alas I finished up my dinner with ice cream and tinned pears - but yummy! So I sort of failed my Sugar Fast but no chocolate so I'll still take it as a pass grade!

- Tidied in the master bedroom (finally clearing, though not dusting the top of the COD)

- worked through my Frumps to Pumps tasks, even managing to get my earrings in. I planned a bit more of a Sunday-go-to-church outfit for today and it has realy helped me start the day off right as I just feel prettier. I'm wearing a long-neglected black and clear bead necklace and some black and white ying and yang symbol earrings that were my Nanny's (and I'm not sure that I've ever worn them before). Went all through my dresses (and long coats) and rediscovered a gem of a maxi dress and that it will take very little weight off my middle to make another couple of dresses look nice on - yay! Also cleaned the last few pieces of jewellery that didn't take the Pinterest cure and my Hubby, bless him, cleaned the silver tray and stunk out half the house as he didn't realise he only needed a teeny bit (he used half the tin). Love that man! I guess there aren't too many boys grow up helping to clean the silver, I guess the gender job divide is intact :)

- purchased "The Chosen" by the Alexandra and Joyce Swann at under £4. The sequel to free e-book "The Planner" which in its conspiracy theory/scary government plot kept me awake at night and wouldn't leave my brain - thus of course I had to buy the sequel! This was the second of my earned treats through the FtP challenge, the first being to allow myself to read the (already purchased, 99p thank-you-very-much) second fantasy novel written by a guy in our church (very good so far btw - Haldred Chronicles - Kalla by JG Cully).

- Tutored E and set about rearranging my tutoring session with Cr that was postponed/cancelled (again) I find this particular student a real challenge attitude-wise

- Hydrated over and above my target and so made up for yesterday

- completed all my Consistency Challenges except walking with Sunny

- did all my Daily Do List

Day 31 - Review

Today I:

- ate slightly Smaller Portions

- tidied a little more of my jewellery/drawers/wardrobe

- worked through my FtP tasks though despite my mother's and my best efforts we couldn't get one of my earrings in and I forgot to start the day with God and definitely did not start the day immediately after my lie-in, getting dressed was delayed too as I gabbed with my Mama (she was upset) and also missed church for the same reason.

- managed to cull something near ten "wee" handbags!

- have a long-forgotten necklace and earrings awaiting me to wear tomorrow along with a dress and my fabby purple tights and shoes :)

- Hydrated, though not enough I fear

- completed all my Consistency Challenges bar Sugar Fasting (stupid chocolate, must resist once more)

Day 29 - Review

Today I:

- re-introduced Smaller Portions, prayed over this challenge and sought to reduce all portions except dinner, eating consciously and slowly was definitely the hardest and very much failed element

- tidied but not fifteen minutes worth but in fairness I was out in the morning and the whole of the afternoon and I absolutely faded by the time dinner happened

- completed all but the purging task of my Frumps to Pumps' challenge, though I chose not to wear earrings to allow my ears to heal more (they've been swollen and sore since I reopened the piercings)

- Hydrated

- didn't cancel my sub or ring my Granda

- Sent a text to try to arrange next tutoring session for O

- can't say I "enjoyed" a pre-nap shopping trip with Sunny but we got in and out of the shop in half an hour (unheard of for me) and Sunny ate his snack (rice cracker and grapes) as we got what we needed/went on sale yesterday. Sunny wasn't having the happiest of mornings as he woke a little early but after a two hour nap he was right as rain.

- Enjoyed a post-nap visit with Sunny to my niece and SIL and wasn't home until after my Hubby, a bit late for tea but fortunately I'd made a lasagne this morning so it just needed pinged (microwaved) and we added salad

- Only scored one out of four on my Consistency Challenges by doing my quiet time while Sunny napped

- did my Daily Do List

Day 29 - Smaller Portions (Take 1.2) - Tidying Time (Take 4.2) - FtP (7) - Hy (17.2)

Today's plan:

--- Measure out breakfast cereal/milk or eat one egg on one slice toast
--- Half a tin of beans/one slice of toast lunch or ham/chicken salad open sandwich
--- Regular dinners
--- Eating consciously and slowly, chewing well
--- Reducing/eliminating snacks/supper

- Tidying Time
--- so far my batting average is 3/12 for this challenge so instead of today being TT (13) I've made it Tidying Time (Take 4*) and I've ordered a kitchen timer!
--- today my focus shall be the nursery at large, hopefully by not being so specific with the task I'll be more inclined to do it, we shall see

- Frumps to Pumps
--- text Sis#1 challenge reminder and blog post link for day five
--- include God in my day first thing
--- get dressed by 9am
--- read e-book chapter five
--- read day five blog post
--- be accountable today (i.e. phone Sis#1)

--- go through and purge jumpers drawer section/bottoms drawer section/hanging skirts and trousers (add to "supplement wardrobe" shopping list)

Day 28 - Review - First Grace Day

Today I took a "Grace Day" after a night of insomnia (while my Hubby and Sunny slept loads) and being so emotional and down. Even an enjoyable day of socialising couldn't touch my misery today so a day off to remove guilt on top of all the other tumultous thoughts. Normal activities (and those planned for today) will resume tomorrow, I hope and pray.

Today I:

- woke up the house
- got dressed as soon as I got up
- attended a toddler group with Sunny and my Hungarian friend and her daughter
- had a meltdown in the car on the way home
- was a little revived by Hubby and Sunny's cuddles
- attempted a nap but my Dad was chainsawing right outside my window and even after he graciously stopped, sleep eluded me, as did rest
- entertained my best friend and had a wonderful catch-up and heart-to-heart and a great chat re her upcoming wedding and all the plans and aw so lovely (she stayed so long that Sunny had his dinner while we continued gassing and I didn't have any as my friend was eating later and didn't want any - she was here four-and-a-half hours for "afternoon coffee"). A wonderful lift to my spirits and (I think) I was able to be an encouragement to her as she stresses her way through the wedding plans
- took laundry downstairs and sorted it for washing
- did catechism practice
- attempted a quiet time
- did Swagbucks and Moodscope (3% today, the lowest possible being 2%)
- had lifted out a frozen portion of barley apple cereal yesterday for Sunny and I for dinner (and was very thankful for the no-dinner-prep it provided me)
- ate too many sweets and didn't even enjoy them (at lunch) but did enjoy the many I ate later on :) and the chocolate and the cake, saying that, I still didn't go "mad," by my usual standards anyhow
- laid out tomorrow's clothes
- read the e-book chapter and blog post for the day (thus I am counting my FtP tasks as more or less done)
- made Sunny a podiatry appointment for October
- wore earrings
- tidying time, what's tidying time (more on that tomorrow)
- enjoyed a walk with my best friend as we chatted
- quick-cleaned bathrooms and kitchen
- committed day to God in prayer
- ordered my Hubby's birthday gift
- ordered myself a lovely light pink (a colour!) ladies-cut polo shirt
- had a short prayer time with Sunny after I received a prayer request by text
- wrote this review post and tomorrow's post and
- was generally amazed at what I accomplished despite my depression and emo-ness which has tickled me pink!

Needless to say I did not begin my new task so that will start officially tomorrow!

Nightie-night!

Day 27 - Review

Today I:

- completed my Frumps to Pumps tasks and more, ending up with my going right through all my short hanging, purging a jacket and putting a few things into my seasonal pile (for when I sort out my underbed storage) and I've only added a notation to my shopping list to look for nice cardigans as I don't really need anything else
- had to get my Mama to force my earrings through and bless her she sucked it up and did it and it wasn't a sharp soreness at all, just a throbbing and I'm wearing earrings for the first in almost a year!
- also had Mama cut my hair to neaten it up

- Tutored Cl and E

- Edited sidebar

- Tidied more of the top of the COD but certainly not fifteen minutes worth
